For this project we worked collaboratively with the school, the school kaumātua, the Māori department staff and Ngāti Kahu o Torongare, in a manner that supports tikanga Māori. Design principles developed by and for Ngāti Kahu o Torongare, underpin a set of core cultural values, which have become the foundation that shapes, informs and builds the project.

Working in close collaboration with Matakohe Architecture + Urbanism who have lead the cultural design component of the project, the outcome is a series of buildings specifically design to meet the needs of the community for generations to come.
