The master planning, building design and refurbishment at Kelston Boys gives a welcome update to the environment and facilities of the school. A comprehensive process ensured that the right buildings were removed and new buildings were designed to strengthen the existing compact nature of the school.

THOROUGH SITE ASSESSMENT AND DESIGN APPRAISAL LEADS TO INNOVATION.

The school is a dynamic place, and the resulting scheme worked within the constraints of the existing layout to maximise the efficacy of walkway connections and external space, with an eye to future roll growth. The finished project provides a state of the art 600m2 library, four ICT suites and new office and administration areas. Sustainable reuse was the key goal for the project and 6 classrooms were carefully reconstructed within the existing Nelson block.
